About NZACHS
New Zealand African Community Health Services (NZACHS)
New Zealand African Community Health Services Incorporated is a charitable organisation established in collaboration with New Zealand African Welfare Service Trust since 2014.
The organisation was created to address the unmet health needs of African populations living in Aotearoa and its relevance became more felt by the African communities during the recent surge of Covid-19 pandemic.
Our Vision is an inclusive and accessible Health system that addresses and meets the needs of its various populations including African living in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Objectives
- To promote health, overall Well-being, culture, and traditions of our African populations.
- To help reduce the inequality and inequity of health outcomes for African populations.
- To facilitate access to all available Health services including Mental health services for African.
- To support Health services in building confidence and pride in African Migrants and refugees living in New Zealand.
Mission
To bridge the gap between health services and African populations. Create a platform that will enable health service providers to engage with people from African descent in a way that embraces and acknowledges their unique identity and heritage.
- Who we serve: All Africans who live in Aotearoa New Zealand. We provide a platform to help them navigate the health system with confidence.
